Greater Cincinnati Fund

The Foundation’s internship program for nonprofit organizations is an innovative model that makes the most of relationship-building and leveraged-resources. College undergraduate communication students' salaries are funded, enabling cash-strapped nonprofits to hire the young talent they need. The benefits reverberate: many of the students continue to volunteer or are hired by the nonprofits; they learn that nonprofits are a career option; and they learn the value of nonprofits and the benefits of philanthropy. Interns offer the nonprofits the ability to accomplish many goals in a cost-effective manner while mentoring a college student. Since its inception in 2002, the program has aided 58 nonprofits with 184 interns.
