Since 1953 the Scripps Howard Foundation
has recognized the best work in journalism through the National Journalism Awards.

Winners will be presented cash awards totaling $195,000 plus distinctive trophies at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to recognize excellence in 17 categories for: print journalism; journalistic excellence in TV/cable and radio; outstanding Web reporting by a news organization; distinguished service to the First Amendment; and collegiate competitions for college cartoonist and journalism administrator and teacher of the year.

Cash prizes are $10,000. The Ursula and Gilbert Farfel Fund provides a $25,000 prize for investigative reporting.
